Viisti Dickens

Viisti is a visual artist focused on drawing and painting, as well as historically photography, to explore emotions, connection, identity, courage, and reparation.

Her layered works both respond to topical social and environmental issues, and manifest moments of pause and response. Art as witnessing, questioning, reflection and joy. Exploring conscious, sub-conscious, memory and dreams.

She has developed her art practice both self-taught and short courses at the National Art School and College of Fine Art in Sydney, in parallel with her corporate and academic career. Figurative and abstract, her work responds to humans, natural environments and sense-making through light and colour to explore emotional states and connection.

She has lived in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Chile, UK, Vietnam and France. Her works are part of private collections in Melbourne, Sydney, Mollymook, Brisbane, Spain and France. Her inspiration is drawn from global and local experiences. Art has been integral to her own resilience and reinvention, a source of strength and imagination.
